I love how we in the media always publish the most warm and fuzzy photos of these suspects after they're dead. Betcha the kid wasn't so adorable while he was pointing a loaded gun at the cops.

It's the same BS when local (and increasingly, network) television news covers the story: opening shot: police crime scene. Next shot: photo graphic of suspect and cop in question. Third shot is key: wide shot of interview with the family -- almost always the "grandmother"(often just in her 40s) -- in her living room ... soft lighting ... tearfully dabbing her eyes ... surrounded by photos of suspect when he was a boy, holding a baseball, playing with a wagon, whatever. Always "humanize" the "victim" and demonize the cop. Drum into the "community's" head that yet again, it's always ____ (fill in the blank: police, government, corporate America, whatever) against the black people, and it's a "wrong" that must be corrected. Next newscast: send the photog and a reporter to the mandatory candlelight vigil. More photos of teary-eyed grandma, clutching "cute" photo of the suspect ("victim").

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Only when its a cop shootin these MUTHAPHUKAS always come out to protest. But when these animals smoke each otha like its for FREE WHERE'S THE PROTEST AND OUTCRY ???

But who knows, really? All kidding aside, East Flatbush could very well be a future gentrification frontier, which is what Flatbush Gardens was earnestly aiming for. But with a more suburban feel, which is what future gentrifiers may actually want, after being Williamsburged to death ad nauseum.

It may not be in our lifetimes, but I don't believe it's that far fetched either, considering the complete turnaround of areas that we never could even conceive possible.
