Discussion about
Any opinion on getting Moving Insurance? Movers are taking the contents of a one bedroom from NJ to NYC. No high value items (Art, Antiques, etc.)

Probably covered by your homeowners -- check.

Reallynow is correct. Call your insurance broker or company if you have questions. Movers offer very minimal coverage unless you pay more.
If the move will be done in one day with no overnight, your risks are even lower.

Better off getting a highly recomended movers and skip the insurance as it is generally more expensive than the risk. Plus every mover will break or scratch something, so unless you have really valuable stuff and or lots of glass not worth the time to even file a claim, just buy a furniture pen to cover any marks and move the TV's yourself and follow the truck to make sure they don't leave with your stuff!

Advice is probably incorrect. Check with your agent however, most insurance companies will not accept the liability of an unknown mover transporting your household goods on their truck. Sometimes they cover items held in your driveway in a POD and sometimes by movers with limitations. Investigate the movers full value coverage [its not like you move everyday] or check on line.
