I think Bitcoin or something like it has a future, but this particular currency is still a little too scary to trust in. When I first heard about Bitcoins, they were worth $16, and now they're over 10 times that? And still with the risk of the US and Eurozone ready to find any excuse to make their use illegal?

Imagine trying to buy or sell something in a currency that goes up or down by as much as 60% in one day. One day. That is insane.

ignore this person
report abuse
5 years ago Priceline stock was was at $128.38 per share and now it's $733.99 per share. I believe the people of Cyprus would rather own Priceline stock over the long term rather than a metal -noncurrency that gold bugs are shamelessly trying to hype.

1. Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme and a complete fraud

2. it is based upon the same principle as the numerous failed
barter sites that have arisen over the years

looks like bitcoin will not survive, but ironically it is the ultimate fiat currency, showing it has no intrinsic value. anyway, gold proved yet again to be a better store of value. maybe bitcoin will survive as a payment system, but not as a currency.
