Discussion about
Has anyone heard of or used them? Any opinions, comments appreciated.
I saw some of their t.v. commercials, a couple of years ago.
That's it.
The name kind of scares me :-D
I got a bid from them a couple of years ago when I bought a new apartment. I wanted to re-do the kitchen (same floorplan, new floor, cabinets, and countertop), have all of the wood floors refinished, skim coat and paint the walls, and re-glaze the bathtub.
They were very pleasant and punctual and seemed extremely knowledgeable. I don't doubt that the work would have been good. But the price was very high. Their pitch is that they are full-service and clear up front about costs, which is true. But I still felt the price was too high. It included jobs I hadn't even thought about doing (like painting the metal window frames). And while those aspects could have been value-engineered out of the project (and they were fine wiht that), the thing that bothered me the most was that even though their standard process included buying materials through them (the bid price was only for labor), they did not pass along the contractor discount. So that would have added even more to the already-high cost.
I am perfectly willing to pay a premium for good work, but in this case it was too high for me.
