I never thought I'd add the following to my 'dumb things said by brokers' list:

"Styled as the set for the movie Fu Manchu, this apartment has an array of exotic artifacts", No, it looks like the set for a Febreze commercial where they blindfold the victim.

I would worry about whats underneath all that fabric etc thats draping the walls.. Eccck!

Well at least you do not have to paint the walls.

I could empty that place in an hour. Coat of paint and you're good to go. Love the old oven.

I actually think all this publicity is a plus for the listing. The price / size / layout / location / view is all pretty good (similar units in the same line closed for a little less than this - 382K, 390K in 2010 and 2009) so i think it will end up closing for $380K or so, but who knows, this might get full ask.

For me as a potential buyer, I wish the maintenance was lower, but its a full service building so around $1,000 is normal now a days. I personally am not interested in the full service buildings at the expense of a higher maintenance. But most buyers in NYC are different.

They must be thinking that someone might be interested in it as is? There are a few interesting things there but most of it would go into a dumpster imho. Yikes!

By the way, the broker is high if he thinks being cute about this disgusting hoard will help sell the apartment. And he's an idiot for not including an out-the-window shot of the Jefferson Mkt library, which WILL help sell the place.

Bin Laden hid here for the better part of two years. He rarely left the studio except for his daily walk to Starbucks and to pick up the Post.

I actually liked the chelsea steampunk apartment, but this studio is awful.
