We've all heard the horror stories involving contractors. When one finds a gem in the rough, it's worth sharing! I enthusiastically recommend Bryan Good, Principal, EGT Contracting. My husband & I recently purchased a 2 bedroom duplex which needed a) a new kitchen & b) lots of cosmetic surgery. I can say without reservation that Bryan was an absolute pleasure with whom to work...Ethical, Genuine, Trustworthy (what he wanted to convey about himself in naming his company - EGT Contracting). As this was a first time renovation for us (high stress), it was important that we select someone experienced whom we could trust. Upon meeting Bryan, we just knew that he was the right person for the job. Glad we went with our instincts - Bryan completed the project within schedule & budget...outstanding results! Our architect has been in practice for many years and has seen his share of GCs - he was so impressed by Bryan's work ethic and competence, that he now recommends the services of EGT Contracting to his clients. A renovation can be a positive experience if you select the right contractor! Bryan's website: www.egtcontracting.com bgood@egtcontracting.com/ #516-816-2875 [less]

What would have been interesting is to show before and after photos to see what he actually did
Given that he only started in business in Jan 08, there is always the risk that as times goes on and he gets busier that the service levels may drop as well but hopefully not as it is good to hope that there are a few good ones out there.
HOw did you come across his name given he only started in Jan 08 ? Friend, family ?
My realestate broker (whom I truly respect), Jesse Shafer of Corcoran Group, recommended Bryan to me. He knew that I was in the throes of a search for a GC...Bryan was in the process of launching his own business after having worked for several years at two of the top contracting firms in the city. As long time friends with the Good family, my broker could attest to Bryan's character.
As the website is a work in progress...I'm sure he'll be placing before & after pictures on the site in due time.
Bryan takes great pride in his work. NO CHANCE that the service level will diminish the busier that he gets! Not in his DNA!
yes, his background from his website looks good and good to hear his DNA is also good !
