Discussion about
SE seems to think it is positive: http://streeteasy.com/nyc/blogs/streetnews/entry?entry=360 When will Mattone tell us about the one coming up at the Azure? http://streeteasy.com/nyc/talk/discussion/14968-azure-intelligence-new-construction-on-91st-1st?page=10
why do you like?
Bloomberg and his administration has created a city of have's and Have Nots. The City should have run the program....just like the one in Paris and really saturated Manhattan and certain parts of the boroughs.
Also a little interesting that so many of the places where they put the bikes are bitching and moaning about them, whereas others that do not have them are begging for them. Given the relative low cost, hopefully they expand sooner than later.
No ... hundreds of people (if not more) are complaining about each location where they have them; three or four people are begging for them where they do not have them.
Given the relative low cost, hopefully a guerrilla campaign by The People uses carpet tacks to keep the tires flat at all times.
Fight the oppression: stop The Man.
I touched six more Citibikes this past weekend and I'm still not sick.

Finally got my key. An unsanitary bike whenever I want one, woohoo!!!
I think they may have to expand CitibIkes even below 59th Street. No bikes this morning again. I had to walk several blocks.
Where can I get a weekly tally of fatalities and injuries of or by Shitibike-riding tourists riding NY streets? I bet the statistics will be dazzling!
More dazzling then the number of pedestrians injured or killed by cars every single day?
Without question!
On the other hand, maybe tourists can figure out what the one-way arrow on bike paths is supposed to indicate.
Certainly NY bike riders until now cannot. I generally see more riding in the opposite direction than in the intended direction. And then they're *so* surprised and apologetic and comforting when they hit a mid-block jaywalking (as is their right in NY) pedestrian who remembered to look for oncoming traffic in the right direction. Par for the course.
"No bikes this morning again. I had to walk several blocks."
Yes, there should be more trains. There was not one waiting for me when I got to the subway this morning. I had to wait several minutes.
Is there an ap that tells you which station has bikes. Clearly this is going to be a logistics nightmare for the city.
>And then they're *so* surprised and apologetic and comforting when they hit a mid-block jaywalking (as is their right in NY) pedestrian who remembered to look for oncoming traffic in the right direction. Par for the course.
Funny
>Yes, there should be more trains. There was not one waiting for me when I got to the subway this morning. I had to wait several minutes.
Funny too.
well. there xhould be more trains duing rush hour..but hey, this is amrrica no one wants to pay. in paris, metro trains come like every 90 seconds during rush hour
>in paris, metro trains come like every 90 seconds during rush hour
Yes, but they take you to places in Paris and nearby.
There's a "rush hour" in Paris?
Do the French ever really "rush" anywhere?
yes, away from the shower
Homeless Soulcycle Classes Coming To A Citibike Near You
Cardio Party! Comedian "The Fat Jew" is bringing Soulcycle's model to the masses, leading New York's homeless in spin classes atop docked Citibikes.
"The Fat Jew" (real name - Fabrizio Goldstein) pulled his best Danny earlier this week, after discovering that the new Citibikes still pedal while docked. Of course it wouldn't be a true Soulcycle class without someone yelling at you to TURN UP THE RESISTANCE over pounding dubstep, but Goldstein is sporting a crop top and an earpiece/microphone as he tells the homeless riders to tighten up for "bitchin' definition," so he's really not that far off.
"Indoor cycling, it's too expensive, it's not available to everybody, and it's just like, I want the homeless people of New York to have the opportunity to have sick bodies," Goldstein told a woman filming the class. "They could have really gorgeous bodies, they just need the right workout regimen."
It hasn't quite reached cult status yet, but one Citicycler told an observer that spinning made his legs "feel better".

"Due to CitiBikes, we are losing parking spaces."
1) Good, because less free parking makes for a better city.
2) No, we're actually not. Because the city is turning more spots that used to be alternate side into metered parking. I'll gladly trade the guy who keeps his car there all week - thinking it is some sort of entitlement, not even moving it during street sweep times - for 10-20 cars or trucks each day that actually have some business to do.
3) Long term potentially... we also will have fewer cars vying for those spots given that cars just became a little less necessary.
I'm already seeing some problems with these Citibikes, most notably the fact that they're encouraging amateur and unskilled riders to take to the streets of New York. And I have yet to see a Citibike rider wearing a helmet.
>amateur and unskilled riders
These are bicycles. And not particularly sophisticated ones at that.
Re: And I have yet to see a Citibike rider wearing a helmet.
Matt you start wearing one while you walk around and I'll start wearing one on a citi bike (and I've owned numerous motorcyles over the past 25 years, two of which I crashed at speed, so spare me the nanny state head injury lectures).
>two of which I crashed at speed, so spare me the nanny state head injury lectures).
Um, that's your safety lecture?
"Superman, Superman,
I want to fly like Superman..." (Ray Davies, The Kinks "Superman")
The first step is to head over to that open window.
^^trollalanhart with another drunken comment, within minutes of me posting^^
The Bully Gang Members are still at it. SMH.
Re: Um, that's your safety lecture?
Yes it is. Relative risk. Motorcycle at 0-120mph on twisting roads - full face racing helmet and competition leathers makes perfect sense. Citi Bike at 0-15mph in a bike lane - flimsy plastic helmet with shorts and a tshirt makes you a weenie.
2nd time, as we've previously suggested, you might want to refrain from shaking too hard, you don't have much, if any, grey matter to spare. Not that you are not erudite, of course.
The open window, hmm. I wonder if that Kinks song was somehow related to illicit substances? No, of course not, "truth" would never quote music lyrics from musicians who massively abused alcohol, or even heroin.
^^The unemployable, frustrated, alkie housewife is wondering about the lyrics to a Kinks song and she goes on to state that Ray Davies is a "musician who massively abused alcohol, or even heroin."
aboutready has and still does massively abuse alcohol.
Ray Davies never abused heroin. He's also one of the greatest musicians/songwriters/singers in rock music history and is still recording and touring the world performing at sold-out concerts.
The unemployable, frustrated, alkie housewife is sitting home drinking and posting comments about song composition on streeteasy.
secondtimearound: She's posting her alkie advice to you and summing-up your "grey matter".
"Of course", she is a better, more accomplished person and is more talented than professional musicians. "Of course". That's why she's sitting alone at home posting drunken comments on a sunny afternoon, in the summertime.
>"truth" would never quote music lyrics from musicians who massively abused alcohol, or even heroin.
Are you kidding, that's what artists do.
"artists"
So trUth gets some occupational therapy at Creedmore, and has the nerve to throw stones at anybody else? And just because her (current) substance abuse is legal and, moreover, government-mandated?
Can it be true???!!!
As for STD, it's really not necessary to state that you're a single male Hispanic. This isn't a dating site. Just as it isn't a site for ancient suburban white "music" rocking-chair reminiscence.
^^Here's alanhart, trolling me after receiving e-mailed directives from aboutready, about 1 hour ago^^
alkiealanhart and his alkie se friend "aboutready": drinking in the afternoon at home, alone.
Trolling on streeteasy looking to start a fight.
At 4:30pm EST, they're in NYC and they have nothing better to do with themselves.
How's it hanging, trUth?
I thought so.
greensdale:
Many of the greatest artists, writers, musicians throughout history have abused alcohol and/or taken heroin.
Most who are still alive are sober and in A.A. They don't care about alkieaboutready's opinions of them and her drunken moralizing.
aboutready is an unemployable, frustrated alkie housewife who can't learn new skills.
Learning how to drive is impossible for her. She can't get sober nor stay sober in order to be able to pass a road test.
So she trolls for fights on streeteasy, day and night.
Ranting and cursing on streeteasy comment threads is her way of venting her self-contempt.
^^I didn't even finish typing my comment to greensdale, when the troll alanhart posted yet another drunken trolling comment directed at me,6:05pm EST.
And what's your explanation regarding trolls who persistently, irrelevantly, and inappropriately post song lyrics on threads on New York residential real estate discussion boards? Are they merely trying to single-handedly destroy those threads and the topics being discussed? Or is that just a substantial by-product?
^^It's not a concern for streeteasy nor any other comment posters, other than troll alanhart and aboutready.^^
Within 3 minutes of my comment being posted: here's the alkie troll alanhart again: 6:16pm EST 6/26/13
... WRONG! It's a concern of many many posters and readers, and you've been told by SE to stop posting off-topic drivel. After the slightest little attempt to make some sort of vaguely on-topic contribution, you long ago abandoned that. It's impossible for you.
And that's why all your posts are on the verge of being deleted, and your username shut down for good. Good.
^^FALSE! None of what the troll alanhart states in his above trolling comment of me, about 38 minutes ago (7pm, EST 6/26/13) is true.^^
I've posted many on-topic comments (although I'm often off streeteasy discussion boards for weeks and months at a time) and continue to do so.
My occasional posting of song lyrics is of no concern to streeteasy, it is not an insult to any other comment poster nor has streeteasy ever "told (me) to stop posting off-topic drivel".
When I do post song lyrics or quotes (as other comment posters have done, without complaint nor objection)
it is not in an abusive response directed to other comment posters. I don't curse and rant at se comment posters in anger, nor do I post provable lies and personal misinformation about them with malice.
Troll alanhart has just posted another in his continuing, unabated series of abusive, false comments directed at me.
It's been going on, literally for years and he and aboutready have displayed and proven themselves to be unable and unwilling to co-exist with me on streeteasy discussion boards.
alanhart has (by his own admission) posted comments on streeteasy while drunk (and also posted about being/getting drunk). So has aboutready.
Their abusive comments and malicious lies, directed at me and other streeteasy comment posters is disruptive and disturbing to other comment posters, who have stated their discomfort in their comments.
Hb, I really hope that your comment was ironic, because mine was certainly intended to be, if not downright sarcastic. Our resident hypocrite has no sense or irony, or even reality. Pitiful.
Truth, you lie. I've spoken to SE, they are very much concerned about your vitriol. They told me that you had approached them requesting a truce. Out of respect for them I made every effort to refrain from engaging with you. But you just can't resist, can you?
^^ within 2 minutes, here's aboutready, angry as usual^^
Btw, they called me, not the other way around.
^^within one minute, aboutready is back here: 7:53pm EST 6/26/13^^
Within seconds here's truth, a bitch, as usual. I'm not angry, just telling the "truth," something you are incapable of doing.
Here I am.
AR, did you read Jim_Hores post yesterday ... very C0lumbiaC0unty-like in tone. Oops.
Who cares? I know cc, he's no key Sherpa.
^^within a minute, aboutready is back calling me "a bitch", not unusual for her.^^
She has made no "effort to refrain from engaging with (me)."
The proof is on many streeteasy discussion threads, many of which display trolling comments posted by both aboutready and alanhart, within minutes of my comments (not directed to them, nor about them) being posted.
Many were posted by me after being off the se discussion boards for days, weeks and months.
Within minutes they posted abusive, malicious comments directed to/about me containing provable lies and intentional misinformation about me.
Those time-stamp things are sadly hilarious. Do you not realize how quickly you respond? Your stupidity astounds me sometimes, truth, but only slightly less so than the abysmal quality or your prose.
Irony. Of your prose.
greensdale: It's 8:03pm EST.
aboutready is already posting here on another of her cursing, abusive rants.
It's going to be another long night of her abusive, cursing rants on streeteasy.
What provable lies? Like your commentary is so full of "truth." Like you didn't continue to post vile shit about me long after I started a prolonged break. You're a hypocrite and a horribly immoral human.
So, Truth, Aboutready, do you ladies ride Citibike?
Looked into your crystal ball? Or used some witch technique to attempt to foretell the future? Probably the latter, and you're no good witch. You're soul is black.
No, my reflexes are horrible. Always have been, I'd be a menace. In 9th grade I hit myself with a handball paddle and knocked myself out. When I came to my PE teacher told me to never suit up again. That's the reason I don't drive, not because of "truth's" oh so pleasant allegations.
Well, I don't blame you. That's a much more flattering story about yourself.
I had a car when I was 16, I took driver's ed, I was miserable and decided I did not need to face my own incompetence regularly and thus took the bold step of becoming a west coaster who did not drive. Never look back.
What a raving mad lunatic trUth shows herself to be! No dignity whatsoever. Amazing.
Come on now aboutready. Go get a driving teacher and learn again.
How about Citibike spin classes.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/health/2013/06/24/parked-citi-bikes-become-soulcycle-for-homeless/
SoulCycle is a hip way to work out indoors on a stationary bike, but at $34 for a 45-minute class, it’s not cheap.
But, hey, those shiny, new Citi Bikes are free when they’re parked.
So comedian Fabrizio Goldstein threw on a crop top and led a free spin class in New York City’s Tomkins Square Park this past weekend.
“Here we go!” he shouted over the music to about five people as they pedaled along with him. “Work it. You’re worth it.”
A neighborhood resident was filming nearby when she happened to come across the class. She interviewed Fabrizio briefly after the class and sent her video to the Crosby Press.
“Indoor cycling, it’s too expensive. It’s not available to everybody,” he told the resident. “I want the homeless people of New York to have really sick bodies.”

How about those Citi Mets!
I'd pay to see Truth race aboutready down second avenue on Citi Bikes.
Truth,
Do you know that ar worked for Ralph as a paralegal and he fired her? Also, she's happy I returned. While ar is "highly educated", it has disallowed her from maintaining employment. What ever happened to her career as a real estate writer?
LMAO.
AR,
Where's that black cabbage patch you purchased from the auction block?
aboutready is indefinitely restricted from driving due to her innumerable DUIs. I heard she's the best drunk driver in the union. ar once drove from Washington-to-NY intoxicated.
Reflexes are typically horrible for drunkards.
Isn't cute, dumbo has a new handle. AND the nice people at the group home gave him access to a computer.
You are disgusting.
I forgot the it. Not such a new handle, just not so used.
Cabbage patch kid? Purchased from the auction block? You embarrass yourself. Horribly.
aboutready aka Paula Deen. Your a lackluster in the kitchen, but a powerhouse in the bar.
moldfungus, do you really believe that drunk drivers are unionized?
With your comments here you have proven yourself to be more racist than Paula. And I'm a great cook.
Which of my comments here prove me to be more racist than Paula? And yes, you are a great cook, it's true.
West34: I'm not surprised to see that the alkie trolls alanhart and aboutready have continued posting their drunken comments, over more than 2 1/2 hours while I've been off this thread. It's now 10:45pm EST.
There would be no "race": I would be riding down Second Ave. while she would be still trying to get the bike out of the Citi Bike station. Next, she would have to get on the bike and actually try to ride it.
Truth, your ability to tell time via digital displays is your greatest strength. You go girl.
Yeah, trUth would be riding down Second Avenue, assisted by gravity. She just wouldn't be riding in a southerly direction, nor downtown.
Sidewalk, meet sideshow!
Toper ar believes her burnt food is great cooking. ar's brain is addled from the years of alcohol abuse. BTW, ar's body is too big to ride a ciitbike; she might cause a forest fire in the middle of Brooklyn with those logs she calls legs and thighs. alanfart is drunk and single as ever.
Finally, I've never made any racist remarks. I've only pointed out the racist remarks you've made, ar. SMH.
http://gothamist.com/2013/06/27/citibike_fail_dumbo_totally_dockblo.php
DUMBO's main drag is located at the bottom of a large, steep hill, and this distinctive geographical layout appears to be heavily influencing the choices made by local Citi Bike users: you can grab a bike on the way to work and coast almost all the way to your office, shaving time off your commute and enjoying a little exercise. But this flow of riders coming down the hill each morning is not balanced by traffic going back up the hill, because that's a hard ride and most hipsters are lazy. Also, the tourists who might enjoy taking the bikes out to see Brooklyn Bridge Park don't arrive until later in the day.
The result is that from about 9 a.m. on, all Citi Bike stations in DUMBO proper have been fully booked. This total dockblocking is putting commuters between a dock and a hard place: you either have to bike back five or six blocks to the closest unblocked station, or not do the ride at all.
dockblocking. hee hee
Why can't New York be more like cities in The Europe? They have a much better approach to sharing:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/26/business/global/one-way-car-sharing-gains-momentum.html?pagewanted=2&_r=0&partner=rss&emc=rss&pagewanted=all
"When he wants to drive to work in the morning, he checks his smartphone to see where a particular BMW, Smart car or Mini is parked and takes it. Once he gets to his destination, Mr. Clemens parks the car on the street and forgets about it."
>Once he gets to his destination, Mr. Clemens parks the car on the street and forgets about it."
We have insufficient parking
too bad for you.
go fuck yourself.
plenty of parking in C0lumbia C0unty.
stupid.
Lame. How much time do you spend, hb, looking for old posts to revive, almost always needlessly and rarely pertaining to real estate? You ARE Riversider, but you have good friends, truth and secondtimeisnotanimprovement. Go you.
AR, is this anger because you can't drive and can't ride a bike? I believe you can learn. I believe in you, now you have to believe in you.
