Particularly dreary block with an exit from the 59th Street Bridge. The building is your standard 1950's co-op. Lots of bridge traffic on Second Avenue. The is an MTA exhaust tower on 63rd Street behind the building. That's all I can think of.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. The MTA exhaust tower - what is the downside of having it in the area?

MarcieP, pollution and noise, and extra heat in the summer ;) I would second what RealEstateNY said. The block (and surrounding blocks) has a very... dilapidated feel. Also can get pretty crowded, not only with people, but LOTS of traffic, both coming off the bridge and getting onto the bridge, trying to circle around to 59th street or whichever entrance they can use. Parking is extremely difficult around there, if that applies to you. Restaurants and night-life are sub-par, IMO, if that matters. These things may or may not sway you, depending on how much of a new yorker you are :)

62nd St. is also the on-ramp to the northbound East River Drive (although I think that might be long-term temporary).

Op, why not get off your ass and walk around the neighborhood a bit instead of asking strangers?

Ah yes, another good, helpful comment from jimmyboy. And those second opinions from other people, strangers?? Worthless! The creators of yelp, eopinions, angieslist, ratemds, citysearch and others must be broke! What were they thinking! (not to mention the entire concept behind message boards).

they were invented for lazy, weak-minded pussies who are too afraid to use their own senses and judgement. which is why you must believe in them so strongly sonya.

LOL, that's your opinion. You're entitled to it, no matter how stupid or angry you sound. Odd that you would say that, though, you message-board-user! ;-)
