I have an alcove studio (650sf) in Turtle Bay and that I'm starting to renovate. The building was built in the 80s. Your standard midtown East red brick apartment bldg. Nothing spectacular. Doorman, roofdeck, gym. The studio has Western exposure and a full wall of waist high windows so gets plenty of light. I'll be selling it in about 2 years. White is nice, if you get nice white. Otherwise a conventional medium stain, and make them look 'current' or 'timeless' with some smart handle/knob choices.

Glass fronts on selected 'featured' upper cabinets, not everything.
