Discussion about
Does anyone knows how long it takes to have the inital coop UCC1 to be recorded? My bank attorney sent it 2 weeks ago and the cheque was stamped and cleared early this week. I need to close my coop soon but the bank won't close without UCC1 being recorded.

The gap between document and recorded dates ranges from one day to 20 or so, just going by the UCC1s filed for my building. The UCC1 for a purchase is usually filed several weeks before closing.

The e-filing system returns some kind of ID number, I think, so you might want to try tracing that with the city. The UCC1 could've been filed under a misspelled name or under the wrong borough/block/lot.

okay, thanks. I understand that there's no way to call up the department and find up or chase them?

Try 212-487-6300 or acrishelp@finance.nyc.gov.
