The shareholders living in the 2H/2J/3J combo apartment are suing the co-op to prevent the commercial tenant, Duane Reade, from putting an HVAC exhaust and intake on the roof at the back of the building. I lived in a co-op where they installed new elevator motors in a new area of the basement. The owner of a huge apartment on the first floor could not use several rooms in his apartment due to the ongoing noise and vibration from the motors. The same law firm, as you mentioned, represented the co-op and they received a similar letter to the one on page 27. This turned into a long running law suit. Meanwhile, the co-op cancelled the owner's lease to a huge store room he had been using for his business for many, many years. I believe they eventually moved out.
