Discussion about 50 Lexington Avenue #16D
This listing is a joke right? (see pics vs the description)
Who could find fault with an apartment where it's perpetually one's birthday in one of the bedrooms. Seems like such a happy place!
Reading the description and looking at the pictures one has to laugh.
did i miss something, "highest caliber renovation", or are the pictures of a different apartment?
this place may have Porcher, SubZero, etc, but being 20 yr old, they're worthless.
i'm trying to figure how this jr 4, with 2 baths, is below market.
These are some of my favorite photos, ever! Those closet shots are priceless. But where was the concrete kitchen floor with stainless and brass inlays (which sounds pretty awful)? Looks like cheap tile with cheap cabinets and really old appliances to me. And where is the subzero? That fridge looks like regular black standard appliance. The bedroom with all the luggage in the photo, the baggies piled on the stove and grocery garbage bag sticking out of the waste can, the clothes hanging on the towel bar in the bathroom, the birthday banner, the grim lighting...it is all too priceless. It's like an abandoned safe house.
It looks like photographer was shooting a different apartment. So many shots of someones closet I wonder if his goal was to sell his wardrobe.
I like the luggage. Looking for a fast getaway, and who could blame them.
The photos are of the correct apartment. Note the laundry ticket for "16-D".
What the broker did was, copy and paste the description of 23D from a few years ago: http://streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/30077-coop-50-lexington-avenue-flatiron-new-york
Check out a rental listing of his in the same building: http://streeteasy.com/nyc/rental/1115479-condop-50-lexington-avenue-flatiron-new-york
Same kind of crammed-closet pictures, but this time with somebody's baby in a highchair, too.
We can only hope that this guy's excuse is that both apartments are full of tenants' stuff, and they're both trying out for Hoarders: Buried Alive.
These people are too fucking lazy to even put the toilet roll on the toilet roll holder!!
Yeah, funny how it jumps out of the photo. I did same thing, saw it and played find-the-holder.
Just looking around here, though, I can't throw any stones. But then I'd know better than to let a camera in.
I like the closet shot with the bending clothing rod.
Where is HB to point out the proximity to Eataley?
Now that broker is earning his commission. Those iphone cameras can be tricky.
selborne, excellent. who can blame them, indeed?
indeed!
NWT - good call on the copy/paste! Clearly that apartment had been upgraded :) I wonder if the seller a) paid attention to the laziness or b) even cares!
The cell-phone-ish photos of an unstaged apartment don't really bother me; you're getting a look at what the apartment will look like when lived in. Replacing this person's stuff with your stuff is easier to do, mentally, than superimposing your stuff on an ampty apartment.
But what's the story with that walk-in closet that has no entrance? Did they wall up a body in there or something?
I was hoping the photos were the result of the owner taking full advantage of the "liberal sublet policy."
Triple, it's not just the photos, it's the photos combined with the listing description that is so appalling.
AR, you present yourself as someone who knows real estate. Have you thought about being in the industry? Broker? Blogger? Something like that?
