Discussion about
Any opinions on living in this area? (Commuting to Midtown if that had any beating in your opinions) Thanks. Can this please be posted today.
have you considered living in Midtown? what is your budget?
I work for a Chelsea-based firm, and lived in Chelsea twenty years ago, so I think it's been fun to watch the transformation of 10th Ave. Certainly now Far West Chelsea is an artsy place to live, and the High Line's wonderful. The con, in my mind, is the schlep to the subway.

Its really great..one of my favorite areas downtown, great restaurants, beautiful tree-lined streets, mostly two avenues from the subways, bike lanes, etc.
There's no such place as "West" Chelsea.
"now Far West Chelsea is an artsy place to live"
... where? who? People who work in the financial arts buying condos from big developers? Those few artists who lived in that area's lofts had no rent protections and quite some time ago were priced out.
Or do you mean an artsy place to live if you're a canvas hanging in a gallery?
Is West Chelsea more or less "gentrified" than Hamilton Heights? http://streeteasy.com/nyc/talk/discussion/35665-hamilton-heights-keeps-getting-nicer
Love West Chelsea. I have lived on West 20th and 10th for the last two years and it's great. You can also still find some little steals along 10th because some people don't like to be that far from the Subway...but once you get over here it's super peaceful.
