This is a sad commentary on the state of medical practice in this great city of New York. Once valued office space on Park Avenue is now out of reach for almost all specialties, except plastic surgery and cosmetic dermatology, specialties not tied to insurance reimbursement. Who can afford maintenances of 8,000.00 per month on Medicare rates, and soon all insurance reminbursements. Upstairs in these coveted coops, apartments are selling at 5-6 times the price, and maintenances are about half relative to purchased space. It is time to reduce maintenances on medical spaces before they become the problem of the coops.
