Has anyone ever experienced a brand new building, sponsor units, requesting a fee for having been a 421a development? Specifically: "3/10ths of 1% of the sales price to the Sponsor for obtaining the Section 421-a tax abatement." As far as I know there's no cost incurred by the seller other than a 100$ filing fee to register for this abatement. Anybody else experienced this? Thoughts?
