Hello SE users and commentors.... Would love to hear and listen to those that have an opinion regarding living, moving, and purchasing in the 160's - 170's.. not concerned about "gentrification" nor the past.. just the future and $/sqft without a tax abatement mucho olblliged..
THat's Columbia Presbyterian HOspital territory and it seems to be improving. The hospital also has been trying to buy up buildings around there and also to buy out tenants. I believe there is a new hotel coming to 168th street for Columbia Presbyterian patients and their families. So probably the area has potential in the future.
I theres someone from there that posts on here
Maine is nice too.
Bought there couple of years ago, have seen nothing but improvements. Good sized apartments for decent money. Still has a way to go with services but that also is improving.
Well, I have seen it all. "WaHi"! To think the 5 story walk up I know between Audobon and St Nicks in the 60s is now a place of "gentrification". The brokers didn't spend much time coming up with WaHi. We just called it the heights then. The Irish were the toughest in the neighborhood and the quickest to throw a punch. I left when a neighbor in a building next door brought a gas tank up to his apartment to weld a leak. Result: three alarm fire (true story). Realizing the neiborhood changed, I left my 2 BR apartment ($83 per month rent). Glad to hear the 'hood is now "WaHi"!!! LOL! Maybe time for me to visit W 181 St and Ft Tryon Park. Or walk across HighBridge to "SoBro"! LMFAO!!!
