Horrible building!!
There is no:
Gym
Roof Deck
Bike Room
Storage Room
The building management doesn't care about any of their tenants who pay so much rent for a building that has no amenities, especially if you ever have a problem. The building does have an underground parking garage (for a fee).
The worst complaint tenants have, is that the building has "total control" over the heat and AC. They turn on the AC around Memorial Day and shut it off by mid-September when the heat has to be ready to be turned on. They never mention any of this before you move in.
Another issue they neglect to tell you is that the building is a "mixed-use" building. Floors 2-4 on the W. 57th street side are private commercial offices. Floors 2-7 on the W. 58th street side are also private commercial offices. Strange people roam in and out of the building all-day-long. It's very unsafe and not at all private or quiet since the doormen can't watch and track everyone who use the stairs and elevators since both residential and commercial tenants use them. There are no separate elevators or stairs for residents and commercial tenants. Everyone has to share them.

You didn't know this in advance? Did they show you a fake bike room before you signed the lease?

It's always a good idea to just stand across across the street and take a look at the building before you shell out thirty or forty thousand bucks to live there for a year.
This one has just a few window AC units showing, so you know it's got central AC, but that that's not enough for some of the tenants. There're hardly any buildings with four-pipe year-round heat-or-cool, so for a few months per year what you get won't match the weather. When you're inside checking out the apartment, step two would be to fiddle with the controls, just as you'd do in a hotel room, to see what you get.
It's unusual to have apartments converted to offices on so many floors, but again, you might wonder why you can see all those office-style ceiling lights through the windows, and then ask what's going on. Fortunately, even if you miss something (and we all do) you're trapped for only a year.
