Please read. Helm Management runs/owns this property. They are terrible. Not just "New York landlord" terrible, but "human being" terrible. They have lied to us about construction, been slow to deal with pest infestations (bedbugs), and repeatedly refused to deal with recurring maintenance issues. There are dozens of terrible landlords in this neighborhood and for the most part they are unavoidable. In Helm's case though: please avoid them. All of the units in the building are being renovated (which we were not warned about). This may make the apartments more appealing in the future, but again, let me state in the clearest possible terms: if you rent an apartment in this building, you are engaging with a disrespectful, dishonest, and actively underhanded management company. All of this is at your own risk and obviously, experiences may vary (spoiler: they don't), but it is at the point where I really do feel compelled to warn potential tenants. [less]
