Discussion about
It would be great to see how much a seller originally paid for their apartment (co-ops in particular). This information is particularly useful for the buyer to know when buying co-ops in the City. If the buyer had the knowledge of what the seller originally purhased their property for they would know what a reasonable and fair offering price would be. There were rumors (on Curbed.com) that NY was thinking about releasing this information to the public but I haven't heard anything for a couple of months. Please share any news about this topic...

go to Propertyshark.com. you can search 6 properties at a time for free. i read about it in the NYT. it isn't complete, but is still quite useful. also, ask your broker for comps. it's good business to provide them to a buyer, and their job to do so, in my opinion. good luck to you.
