$3900 for this smaller 1 br unit looking right into another building? that is ridiculous! This is not a luxury building and the larger 1BR units are renting for much less than that, and 2 BRs close to $4000

A couple of comments, the "smaller" 1 br doesn't have a balcony, also the unit faces south which means there isn't another building for 2 blocks; so I don't know what you mean by "looking into another building"? I see a 2 bd (2P) listed for $4900. Unfortunately everything today with a doorman is called "luxury".

I don't think the apartment will rent for much over $3000 but not for the reasons you mention. I remember when large 1 bedrooms in that building rented for $500 back in the 1980's. LOL!
