Discussion about
I am allergic to dogs. It seems like all the listings I see are pet friendly. How can I search for a building that won't allow pets?

The New York Times real estate classified allows a search for no pets allowed listings. Once you have a list of buildings, you can double check on SE to see if there are listings on SE that are not in the Times (a common occurrence).

Any REBNY agent can also do such a search for you. There are plenty of such buildings.

I know a great agent who can help you. Let me know if youd like her info.

Heh, and just a little while ago, people were complaining that there were too FEW places that allowed pets...

krishroom,
A little searching, and you should have no problem finding "no pets allowed" :-)

In SE, in your search criteria, check the box "desription includes". In that box type no pets, etc and it will pull listings that meet that criteria. Of course the agent must stated it when the listing is posted.

you also should ask the broker/landlord/managing agent. Some buildings may say no pets but have dogs that have been grandfathered in.

Many, many Upper East Side buildings do not allow dogs - I've noticed this on Streeteasy
