What is generally more desirable and or commands more rents/purchase price? Bed Stuy or Crown Heights?

Both areas are very large. You would have to be more specific. More people tend to look closer to the A/C trains in BS or closer to Prospect Park in CH but there are little pockets all over in both that are extremely desirable. Go explore and see what areas speak to you, try at different times, weekdays, weekends etc. Good luck.

They are very similar but I give the edge to crown heights because of subway access and proximity to the park.

Idiotic. And not a wee bit clever.

Crown Heights is more desirable if you have kids, Bed-Stuy is more desirable to singles. Buy accordingly. Bed-Stuy has more bars and music venues. Crown Heights has more green space.

Crown Heights, because of a wider varety of housing stock, styles AND the beautiful, tree shaded, grand boulevard that is Eastern Parkway.

The one small pocket that's become emblematic of gentrification on steroids / in hyperdrive is the 5 block or so stretch of Franklin Avenue north of the Parkway.

It's a hot button issue, & not everyone's thrilled with it.

But that aside, it's still my choice for the reasons I cited.

Thanks for the responses, we like Crown Heights but have noticed Bed Stuy prices are insane. Hoping Crown Heights is a bit cheaper, (Crown Heights west of Kingston).

No problem; you're very welcome.

The prices are a bit less - but not by much. But, like with everything else, bargains occasionally pop up.

Just be ready to pounce when they do! Best of Luck with "CroStuy Quest"!
