Discussion about 30 West Street #4F
apt looks pretty nice, but faces school playground with screaming kids all day long! Also, when i was there, some of the plumbing was out of wack in one or two of the bathrooms (perhaps fixed by now) Anyone else get a chance to take a look?

For disclosure - I recently purchased a different apartment in the Millenium (so obviously I like the building). With that said, I had also looked at 4F (along with a bunch of other apartments in the neighborhood), so am happy to provide my thoughts.

As you point out, it faces the school playground which is only one floor below - this certainly detracts a bit. With that said, the building's windows are pretty good at insulating noise, plus the kids are only there during the day, so it's completely quite by late afternoon (vs being near a busy street which never lets up). The layout, features, etc. are all great - and frankly, for this amount of space (legit 4 bedroom 4.5 bath) in a fairly new condo with nice finishes the pricing just can't be beat (especially considering the Millennium has one of the better land leases in BPC). I can't comment on the plumbing, but assume you'd make sure that's addressed via contract with seller, and my experience thusfar with building management has been very positive (seems very well run).

Don't know if you are new the the BPC area (I've lived in the hood for 4 years now) - but we absolutely love it. Wouldn't be my first choice if I were 23 and single, but in our situation with a family it's fantastic. Quiet/relaxed, great parks and spots along with water, and it really feels like a neighborhood - you bump into people you know when out and about (I never got this feeling when living in other areas of the city). There are now a few solid restaurants (though I'd love to see a more open up), and it's easy enough to hop a cab and be up in the West Village in a few minutes (or walk to Tribeca if the weather is decent).
