Discussion about Woodstock Tower at 320 East 42nd Street in Murray Hill
When I moved to NYC a little over a year and a half ago, in the market for a large "alcove" studio, I saw a few at the Woodstock. The corner units are spectacular as to what could be done with them, with their huge casement windows and glorious views; but I was appalled at the condition of the hallways, which looked like they belonged in a tenement. The carpets were filthy, there were wires hanging from the ceiling, exposed lightbulbs, and the list goes on -- all that and very high maintenance to boot. When the agent showed me the "patio," I saw 3 HUGE mice (rats?? because they had long tails). I literally ran from that place and didn't look back.
Yikes what a shame.
michele123 you left out Woodstock Owners v Dunne (sp?)
Why is Bianca Razzano v. Woodstock Owners Corp on there? Plaintiffs lost, badly.

Does anyone live here and have anything positive to say about it? Thanks
I lived there and have nothing positive to say about it. Don't forget it was created as a pied-a-terre. The walls and ceilings and floors are paper thin. Like you hear your next-door neighbor sneeze. Someone walks across the floor upside and you wake up thinking you're in a warzone. It's crowded - you'll wait for an elevator or share with 8 other people on weekday mornings (when we were commuting, anyway) and there are roughly half as many washers and dryers as needed. I've never had so many water bugs in my life - everywhere from the closet to the kitchen. The location is fantastic although if you overlook the park don't forget the screaming children in the playground.
I thank the Lord in heavens that I didn't buy there, because I almost did: I'm terrified of a simple roach, let alone a huge water bug. I would have jumped out the window or gone to a nuthouse!!!
You're bound to see the occasional waterbug in just about any basement.

Horrible. Don't live here. Incompetent board. Awful management company. Fees, fees, fees... repairs, repairs, repairs... seemingly endless repairs - you will pay $$$ for an outside worker to come in and make repairs, and you will also be required to pay $$$ to Woodstock a huge amount of money for them allowing you to hire someone to make repairs in your unit. Can't wait to move out !!
