Increasingly unpleasant to live here

Extremely noisy on Broadway (sirens 24/7) and on Amsterdam (construction). The apartment doors slam so easily and no one cares about the sudden very loud noise they make. Building's heat/AC and water lines get shut off very often. The fitness room the size of a closet has been in construction for over a year now. Building scaffolding has been up for almost a year now and shows no signs of ever coming down. Great location, but terrible noise, maintenance, and especially neighbors.

Hi. I'm considering purchasing an apartment in this building. The apartment faces Amsterdam Avenue and is on the 8th floor. Do you think noise will be a problem ? Also I heard the heat and water issues have been addressed (or so the broker told me). Any truth to that ?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

I can relate to this in my building. Deafeningly loud door slamming that would literally make me jump. I ended up asking the super to adjust my neighbor's door, and that got rid of the problem. Not sure exactly what he did.

I'm with you fairway. My family and I and our guests spend a lot of time in the lobby.
