Discussion about
I contacted a management company about a no fee apartment for rent last week, got information about the lease and said I'd be in touch to view it. Meanwhile, today I went out with a broker (fee) who showed me that apartment. I didn't sign any paperwork with the broker. He was helpful and I liked him. However, I don't feel very obligated to pay for an apartment that I had already made headway with on my own. What's your take on this?

Yes, what's the protocol here? Before I met up with my broker I had viewed a few properties that were obvious walk-ins and viewed a few units. I then met up with my broker who took me around to several other buildings. I like the first building that I saw on my own (No fee), but I'd also like her to be compensated for her time. Am I obligated to pay her fee ethically if I end up at the building that I saw on my own (No fee)? I know that I have the right to not pay, but I don't want her to be screwed over.
