Discussion about
I disappeared myself for awhile, but curious if any of the oldtimers are still kicking about here? You (sadly perhaps) know who you are. Are SE meetups still happening?

Hi, bjw. No meetups that I'm aware of in the recent past. You'll definitely still see the old-timers but some still seem a bit befuddled over the new format... (myself included :-b )

I find myself visiting the discussions a lot less frequently now that they are no longer prominently featured on the front page.

That being said, even before the redesign, many of the regulars seemed to slowly disappear over the past year and a half.

If bjw is posting about regulars disappearing, that must be a contrarian call. Buy Buy Buy!

buster, that seems to be right, but great to see JuiceMan and the rest of you guys on here! hb still being around is less surprising. Some rashes are chronic.

You speak about rashes from experience, it sounds.

And where's Truth, Alan Hart, AboutReady etc? Hope all's well with everyone; Spring is right around the corner (we hope so, in any case). What a Winter!

I'm in Maui, so all is well with me. Thanks for asking, walpurgis.

bjw: If you want an "SE meet-up", you can host one, in which case you will get the se alkie regulars.
Nice to see you back here, hope all has been well with you.

huntersburg:
I went to visit a friend's farm and learned how to drive a tractor. Lots of fun!

bramstar: But, oh THE BUGS!

kyle: But, oh the wild boars! They make the deer problem in the Hamptons seem small, in comparison.

rb345, I would use a temp service for your sub-butler. Why hire when you and use a temp?

inonada may have taken NYCNovice's comment to heart and is now doing brain surgery.

I went to Williamsburg. And I am doing very well on a rent-buy basis. And for now a resale basis also.

A. Ready, does your analysis factor in the windfall from the settlement, or the discount for living in a crime-ridden area vs. in New York City?

I am officially homeless in NYC, living out of The Phillips Club on an intermittent basis until the fall. Just moved everything into storage today.

Still on SE but only looks at the discussion threads maybe once in a couple of weeks. Much less useful (and entertaining!) than they used to be

Not true. That is a very acluistic comment.

"Not true. That is a very acluistic comment"

Disagree. The absence of Her Grayness limits entertainment potential. Just like the royal court - less festive if the jester is not there to play the fool

More than a bit condescending.

Huntersburg and his alias minions play the fool well enough for dozens of jesters.

'Did the bulls finally win?'

If by 'winning' you mean totally being wrong about the crash, watching major declines for years, and then waiting most of a decade for some recovery, ignoring the impact of inflation and then saying 'aha'...

Suuure....
