Discussion about
I'm looking at a smaller condo building in park slope for an investment unit. Its a nice walkup, and the building has 8 units, mostly owner owned, so I assume that they are mostly owner occupied. My question is, does anyone have experience with renting out units from a building like this? Do owners complain? I guess they can always mandate that rentals cannot happen, but there are a few rentals in the building already, as early as jan 2013.

One of the benefits of condo ownership is that there are less restrictions in terms of subletting. I would recommend you request the building's policy on subletting and any fees that the building may impose. We are starting to see a trend where certain condo buildings are adopting co-op like rules to prevent buildings from becoming mainly rentals. So, check the rules before you purchase.
