building at 801 West End Avenue

Though it's 2016, I just noticed the 2012 post and through it should be addressed. I am a CURRENT resident of 801 West End Avenue, having purchased an apartment in 2012. I am also a FORMER resident of 801 West End Avenue having purchased a different apartment in 1998 that (due to a cross country move) I sold in 2004.

When I moved back East, I saw many apartments but I none had the feeling of home I had while residing at 801 West End Avenue, fortunately, an apartment became available.

801 West End Avenue is located on the north west corner of 99th Street, not only does this location allow one get a taxi at any time of day, because it is north of the West 96th Street entrance to the West Side Highway there is very little traffic. 801 WEA is also close to the new 96th Street Express Subway Subway, so one can be downtown in minutes. As far as the building itself, great care has been taken inside & out, just look up, the limestone parapet has recently been restored to it's Edwardian glory and a new roof is being installed as I write. The lobby and landings were recently renovated and new elevators were installed during my previous tenancy. The staff, both old & new, is respectful, helpful and protective the residents, their children and even their pets.
