Which banks are more likely to work with those with good credit, strong financials but inconsistent income?

Mellon and J.P. Morgan (not to be confused with "JPMorgan Chase").

Interesting question. Aboutready has inconsistent work history, but her husband has consistent work history. And they had trouble getting a mortgage, for of all things - a place in Brooklyn. The people in Tacoma must hold their noses when she goes back to visit.

Keep in mind you will encounter issues with co-op boards with inconsistent work history (if you are looking at co-ops).
Guardhill may have a mortgage program for you though.
