Brooklyn:Park Slope/Fort Greene/Bkyln Heights?

I currently in the UWS, close to Lincoln Center and right next to Central Park. Love the area but pay a huge amount of money for a small apartment. Family is growing so we were thinking of moving to Brooklyn. However, I am still undecided on which Brooklyn neighborhood to pick: Park Slope? ( lovely but long commute?) Fort Greene ( charming but perhaps not so family oriented?); Brooklyn Heights( beautiful but boring maybe?). Any feedback on this? Which one would you pick? Thanks in advance for your comments

If you live in Manhattan, you don't want to move to Brooklyn. I got a call today from the 718 area code, and my visceral reaction, without even knowing who it was, was quite negative. It isn't worth it. Better off with 201 frankly.
