2 electrical panels

i have a 1bd-1bth pre-war coop with 2 separate electrical panels (one in the bedr and one in the kitchen). i am currently at the VERY beginning of a kitchen renovation which will include upgrading the electrical in the kitchen. as part of my electrical upgrade for the kitchen i am aware that the electrical wiring for my entire apartment will have to pass inspection. Do i have to combine the 2 electrical panels into 1 to pass inspection? Or would I be able to pass with 2 panels in one apartment?
