Hi everyone, I want to retire my old wall art and start afresh at my new place. Any recommendations on where I can get good quality oil paintings in large sizes - NY, NJ ? Not looking to break the bank though!
The Art Students League of New York has sales from time to time.
Doyle's Auction house has affordable art and so do some of the other houses. Here are some good leads:

Doyle @ Home auctions are great, as are Christie's Interiers sales.
Interiors I meant ^^^
I've long been a fan of Swann Auction Gallery (mostly works on paper).
Don't some of the museums loan/rent artworks? I've heard that some do/did. We're not talking Renoir or Warhol, of course . . . . .
Am I the only one who thought, "Craigslist?" I've had some fabulous finds, there and on Ebay. (Search by distance if you want to see it in person.) The main thing I'd advise is, don't rush. Find artwork that you love. There's nothing wrong with having a blank wall while you wait until the right piece to come along.
Thanks everyone! Juxie, I never thought craigslist but what a brilliant idea! Am on it right now!!
