We have sued the banks for billions of dollars for "negotiating" deals between both buyers and sellers. but for some reason TV shows these guys and how they rip everyone off. more disturbing though is how the real estate agencies all collude to keep brokerage fees at 5%. how is that possible? in this day and age, the web has all the info any buyer and seller need to appropriately price housing. All the collusion does is suck money out of housing and the consumer. I really don't understand how this is allowed. How does it make sense for anyone to pay a $500,000 commission in NY city just to sell an apt? Its not like its difficult to "sell" an apt. They are what they are. [less]
