Discussion about
Any idea if there are any NYC co-ops or condos that have installed solar panels on their roofs? Just wondering if it was worth the time and cost and which company did they signed with.

We looked into it. Absurdly, ridiculously expensive; close to a million dollars just for the panels and installation alone, not counting the cost of fortifying the rooftop to support the weight. And even then, they wouldn't generate enough electricity to power each and every apartment; only juice for the "common" parts of the building (hallways, basement, utility areas, etc.). We figured we wouldn't break even on our investment for at least 20 years.
