Discussion about
So here is a question for all you upper east siders. We are looking to move to upper east from downtown. Is 70s a better bet or 80s? I find 70s between 1st and 3rd to peaceful with tree-lined streets and luxury retail shops. 80s, on the other hand, is more hustle and bustle. There is a lot of traffic, esp on 86th St between Lex and 2nd Ave. But it is closer to express 4,5 and the upcoming Wholefoods. What's a better location to live in?

60's and 70's ---some interesting buildings away from the ubiquitous white bricks

Kelee, You might want to also consider the impact of the planned MTS (Marine Transfer Station), which would be at 91st Street and the East River…. Because of this, you might consider the 70s--to be as far away from the MTS as possible. Here are more details

@CoyWolf: Yikes, that sounds disastrous. Perhaps better to stay on the 70s after all...
