Discussion about
Hi everyone, I've always been curious: What color would match the pinkish Venetian plaster on these walls. Please see the link below. I think most (single) guys like me would prefer a less pink-lemonad-ish living room. LOL… Please suggest some masculine colors for the sofa furniture and paintings? sky blue? On the other hand, is it very easy to "paint over" Venetian plaster and put on a new color? Or would you have to get the entire thing re-plastered? Thanks for any advice. CoyWolf

If I had Venetian plaster of any hue I'd invest in a whole lot of drywall to abate it.
If I had Venetian plaster of any hue I'd invest in a whole lot of drywall to civilize it.
Et cetera.

Gray is a very good balance for pink. It makes the pink feel less girly/whimsical, more sophisticated.

Will grey, teal or brass rub out the awful mottled effect?

I think per brams' suggestion, almost any colors with strong gray tones are going to work. I might also go with very light neutrals with accent pieces in navy, one that leans towards indigo rather than reading as heavily blue.

Is buster being sarcastic? The thought of teal and brass with that pink ...

There was a decade when teal, pink, and brass co-existed in what we thought was peaceful harmony.

How much would it cost to just replace all the Venetian plaster altogether and put in normal walls?

I would bid on the apartment below. But I feel that the Venetian plaster (which might cost $50K) has already been priced into ask, and then I'd have to replace it, which could add on another $10K (?)….

I'm all for pink. I support breast cancer. I support gay rights. But flamingo pink on your walls? A little bit too Florida for me

Please let me if you know how much it might cost to replace the pink plaster?

THANKS.

Tacoma really doesn't evoke images of pink and brass. Certainly not teal. Maybe grey and lumber.

you can't just paint over it? (or skim coat then paint over). If you're paying $1.5m for an apartment, you should be willing to invest in making it not look like a vegas swingers club

Girl, buy a paint brush, some paint, something to cover your moo-moo, and just paint it. With all your worrying and fretting, perhaps you should just leave it pink........................

In 1985 maybe.

Not today.
