Re-glossing just one area of your wood floors

HI everyone, Somehow a bottle of nail polish remover was knocked down and splashed onto my wood floors. By the time I noticed the small the puddle, it had been about 12 hours. When I wiped out the mess, the gloss (wax?) on my floor also came off. So now there's a big circular patch on my floor (6 inches in diameter) that's un-glossed. …. Is this something that's easy to fix--maybe brush on some polyurethane gloss over the patch and let it dry? I'm hoping I won't have to re-gloss my entire floor…LOL THanks for any advice!
