Discussion about The Colonnade at 347 West 57th Street in Hell's Kitchen
Walls are paper thin in the building. I think it's because it was a rental conversion. I can hear my neighbors phone calls, moans and farts. It used to be predominately older people in the building. A lot have moved, but they were not able to sell because of the market crash, therefore they rent those units out. The renters are naturally gay given the location. You see tattooed people in the gym, and midnight booty call visitors all the time, especially weekends.

Neighbors are "...gay given the location."???? What kind of a moron are you, Sean007? Sounds like you're jealous of all the young gorgeous guys getting laid while you sit in your dump, looking in the mirror and seeing a troll. Wah Wah
Riccardo, don't be too hard on Sean007.
Clearly by saying "the renters are naturally gay given the location", he meant that it's the location itself that forces these men to metamorphisize into sex-crazed, Grindr-prowling homosexuals.
Apparently there must be something in the Earth's magnetic field over West 57th that causes this phenomenon.
If you can't beat them....
It wasn't a conversion. It was built as a condo. Don't know whether that meant much in 1982, though.
Rufus redux reflux.
Yeah not not a wanna be New Yorker hating on New York. He's a so deep in the closet he's stuck with the bar mitzvah suit self-hating homophobe.
Goldfinger was my favorite of the Bond movies.
How deep in the closet could be be? He lives in a building called the colon-aid.
Matt, your wisdom and wit inspire me. You can be so nasty, but your ultimate fabulousness rocks! God I wish I lived in NYC. I know there must be a lot of "Matt's" there. My kind of man indeed. Sorry for the gush guys. Won't do it again. SE won't let me start a discussion because I've been too nasty in the past. Amazing what a year of intensive therapy can do!!!!!! Try it, you'll like it!!!!!
Aw, thanks Riccardo! And if it makes you feel any better, I can't start any new discussions, either -- but I've never been nasty so I have no idea what THAT is about. The internal penal system on this board is so random ...
Sounds absolutely scintillating!
My bunghole twitches in anticipatory excitement as I type this.
I await your "input", if you will, in a vacant unit. I'm there already - Hurry!!!
Matt: thanks for the feedback. I always read your comments, and although your wit can be a bit -- shall we say -- caustic, your thoughts are always spot on and I've never seen (read) you react with rudeness or outright nastiness. I, on the other hand, have -- latent hostility because I don't live In your magnificent city. You would be the ideal person to start a subject because it would certainly be interesting and pertinent. Go figure! Continue your fabulousness and honesty. Ciao. P.S. I am NOT a stalker..................., just a fan!!! LOL
Get a room.
I wish!!!!
Hey, aboutready! Nice to see you back from your vacation.
Sean, it's a sellers market right now. Nobody knows how long it will stay that way. If I were you I'd put this place on the market this weekend and gear up to leave, if you're not happy there anymore. (It's sounds like you're not.)
It's your home. If looking at inked flesh in the gym creeps you out, you're entitled to feel that way. Neighborhoods change all the time, everywhere in the world---a strip mall comes in, they build a new park, a new high rise goes up, a bunch of trees go down for more parking. All these things make people want to move away, or to move there. It depends on the person.
As far as where to go---the Upper East Side remains a better value than most neighborhoods, I think, and the new subway should give property values a boost.
Watch our for poor soundproofing, though. Really good soundproofing is rare.
But life is short. Think about it.
"As far as where to go---the Upper East Side remains a better value than most neighborhoods, I think, and the new subway should give property values a boost. "
LOLOL!!
You mean that subway that's been in the works for 50 years? Don't hold your breath. It's been "almost done" since 1966:

All of this reminds of aboutready's problems with the frat boys in her old apartment complex. But she showed them, she took the windfall and everyone else's rent went up as a result.
absolutely great building. comment about paper thin walls is nonsensical.
