Co-op board interview

I have an interview today with the coop board. However, I do not have a active contract because my loan was declined due to a low appraisal. The seller and I are negotiating on a new price but they have no gotten back to me. I was wondering if it was wise to go in for the interview? If I were to be accepted, would I need close with the old contract offer?
