building at 1608 De Kalb Avenue

saw the lawsuit against the developer as well (article here: http://therealdeal.com/blog/2014/06/24/pair-of-developers-facing-third-lawsuit-but-similar-allegations/)
it seems like it's for some kind of roof leakage damage. when i went to see the building, there was work being done for a burst water pipe all over the lobby and basement, including the gym but i haven't been able to find any more info. not sure if the water damage is the cause for the lawsuit or due to another issue. as this isn't the first lawsuit against that particular developer, it seems like the buildings he builds aren't very structurally sound.

i was interested in bushwick and stumbled on this condo, as one of the few in the neighborhood. but after looking into the building, it seems like there's a massive assessment currently ongoing for structural and sprinkler issues. a current 6 month assessment for roughly $10k per apt and another engineer's report that the building conducted found sprinkler repairs neccessary to bring the building up to fire code (the report estimated repairs to cost $1.5 million). At 15 units in the building, that's a hefty $100k assessment per unit! yikes.
