I live in Gateway Plaza, 395 South End Ave, in Battery Park City. In the last year, I had 4 sewage (flowing) leaks from the bathroom above me and innumerable instances of wet patches on ny bathroom ceiling shrinking and expanding. After the last instance, 10 days ago, the management had this to say: "We will make necessary repairs to your apartment. Leaks unfortunately do happen in a high rise building of this size." And the "repairs" consisted of offering to repaint my bath ceiling, not a word about fixing the problem causing the sewage leaks. They put a family of four in a 1 bedroom apartment and sewage raining down is the worst of a long list of nightmare-neighbor-from-hell headaches. So ... I'm open to ideas/suggestions how to tackle this, short of moving out which is not an option. Filed a report with HPD but they haven't come around to inspect yet. [less]
