Is it possible for me as an owner of a single apartment in a condo to request condominium financials for the past few years?
We get assessments somewhat more than too often. The explanation given is verbal over a meeting and is nothing more than "We had to pay for that approximately that and for this approximately this". We were told that insurance company hasn't paid us for "insured" boiler damaged in Sandy.
Logically, it seems to me I Have the right to request and take a look at financial reports and financial statements. How can I execute it?
Our management is large corp,that manages many buildings around NYC. So, it is not self managed condo, though we have our own board.
Can I refuse paying an assessment, until I find out what I need to find out?
Basic questions I want to know:
how much condo paid to whoever it's paid and for what.
how much condo received from whoever it was due.
If an entity owed us, but hasn't paid, reasons and what is being done about it.
