Last year when I was looking for an apartment, I spent so much on application fees on apartments' brokers and managements that did not even bother to get back to me on whether I got the apartment or not and another management company said that somebody upped the rent of the apartment that I had applied for but in actual fact, they had upped the rent themselves just to increase the market rate higher than it already is. I found this out because I wanted to apply for another apartment they had advertised but they forgot that I was had applied for the other one, and sent me to see the same one I applied for but the rate was higher. Is this all legal? Why is this type of unprofessionalism able to fly? This isn't directed to anybody in particular on this website, it's just a general observation.
