This building has had NO GAS since July of 2014. Management is non-responsive and unwilling to address the problem to any extent past blaming it on Con Ed. When I moved in the apartment was delivered to me in terrible condition -- damage to the walls that must have been caused by the previous tenants and not repaired, old wall and window hardware from previous tenants that had not been removed. The building is owned by Newcastle Realty Services. http://www.newcastlenyc.com/ Check out their reviews on Yelp -- the other buildings they manage are just as poorly managed.

Riccardo, I understand exactly why you don't get the likes of lrschwhatever, but listen, he or she is whatever he or she is, but the information about this building is generally more important to the public.

Landlords have a legal responsibility to fix the gas when it breaks, and this one is not complying. What's not to get?

So from July until April this building has had no guess. Finally after months of stalling Newcastle Realty Services turned the gas back on in the entire building... or so I thought. After a few tenants' meetings it looks like Newcastle ONLY turned on gas in market rate apartments. Apartments whose tenants are under rent control or rent stablization do not have gas in their apartments, and have been lied to by management saying that the building still does not have any gas. They are actively trying to get the RC/RS tenants out by forcing them to give up their leases. Unbelievable!

Bed bugs are definitely in our building -- we found them in our apartment (apt. 66 for anyone in the building who is curious).

The super (who has since been terminated) and management refused to contract or pay for an extermination service so we paid one for ourselves, out of pocket, $600. They ignored all calls and letters we made to them about bed bugs being, as well as all of our requests to be reimbursed for the extermination services. I sure as hell know we didn't bring bed bugs into the building.

This management is terrible! Don't do it! Don't move in here!

My apartment, 66, is now back on the market. FYI -- we were paying $2,800 when we signed a lease a year ago. Not worth it!
