Looking to replace a floating wood floor which sits on concrete in a 2007 construction building. What is best to do?

What problem are you looking to solve with it? (8 years is a pretty 'young' floor.)

the floor is low quality, has water damage, is loose in places, makes noises in one spot, not very pretty.

Alif,

Very important is to try to figure out why they installed a floating floor in the first place. Take a look at your ceiling to see how straight it is. The chances are good that the concrete slab is not flat. The cost to level the floor will not be inexpensive. It could become very involved, might have to cut all the doors in the apartment if the floor is very off

get in touch with

Edgar J. Espinosa

His guys leveled the floors in our brownstone in Brooklyn heights using "strips" then new subfloor, then felt underlay then new floorboards on top.

Looks great since the work was done even years later.
