Discussion about
I am just starting a bathroom renovation and I want to replace the bathtub. The current tub is a cast iron tub, circa 1950 I guess; ti has to exposed sides, apparently referred to as a double apron tub. I have tried to find a similar double apron tub online but have failed, the only ones that I can find seem to be in China. Does anyone know if there are merchants in New York that supply such tubs? Thanks, Andrew.

You might have to go with a drop-in tub with a separately constructed surround on 3 sides. You might also consider a free-standing unit -- Kohler makes a wide variety of both.

There are several readily available two sided tubs. Duravit makes such a tub ("Happy D" line), which can be purchased most anywhere. Waterworks also makes one, that can be purchased for an arm and a leg.

WetStyle ....but might be too modern for what you are looking to replace.

Hi, double sided bathtubs looks very classy. Even now, you can use powder coatings on bath tubs to make it looks like you wish. There are wide varieties available in powder coating. To know more, visit http://www.decoralamerica.com.
