Discussion about 303 West 146th Street in Central Harlem
Isn't this in Harlem? In which case don't you have much bigger problems than a lying real estate agent?
The building is in Central Harlem, not Hamilton Heights. It's in Storm Zone 5, which is a far off description from a property in the Heights.
A "lying" broker? utterly unbelievable!
Look I get it, and a lying broker is too plain vanilla for this board. There are different levels of lying. For example, when a broker puts the wrong home sales price on a deal sheet. Maybe it'll save someone a few minutes of grief if they know what to expect from her.
The minimum requirements to become a broker are pretty low, so it's fairly common to find brokers that are incompetent or are willing to lie to get deals done. I have seen brokers put the wrong sales price on a deal sheet a couple of times and I don't even work in the field. Long story short- know what you are signing, if you have questions, ask your attorney.
As to your comments about the TCO - the city provides this. If memory serves, the developer/contractor sets up an appointment with the Dept of Buildings for an inspection and if all goes well, the TCO is issued. If it doesn't go well you should be able to see what the violations that need to be corrected are in the NYC Dept of Buildings website. All you need to do is to plug the address in at the DOB website.
thanks semerun - you seem to know everything and are very helpful.
