Missing contract closing date

Discussion about
Contract of sale has a closing date of 9/30 with a "no later than 10/15" clause. If buyers have not been cleared to close by 10/15, can sellers cancel the contract, or are they obligated to extend another 30 days/send a time is of the essence letter allowing for 30 days more. What if sellers were to send notice of cancellation?

Your attorney, who reviewed and revised the contract, is the best person to answer those questions.
