Brokers often fail to mention that the coop rules require 80% carpeting of the floors (for sound proofing) and that the back garden has no public access.

Thanks for sharing.

The carpeting requirement is in almost every coop rules. Whether it is enforced is a different question.

How do you like living in this building otherwise? Is it well sound-insulated?

The location is great (shopping, public transportation) as well as the building staff but the sound proofing is not good (thin walls and noisy parquet floors).

I've heard of exemptions from buildings if you can prove additional padding and scientific testing (decimal readings). May or may not be worth it. But usually a way to compromise.

Are the windows soundproofed? Can you hear street noise/traffic?
